My Mom passed away Saturday morning at around 3am. She had been very sick for the past 2 months and got a lot worse on Wednesday. Thankfully, she went peacefully in her sleep and didn't have to struggle too long. Her obituary read:

It has been really hard the last few days. Even though we were expecting her to pass away and thought we were prepared, I found out quickly that I was not ready. It was really hard realizing that I would never see or speak with her again. I know that she is in heaven now and will always live in my heart and mind, but still, nothing replaces being able to call your mom up to ask her how to do this or that. She will be so missed!

Deedra, I just wanted you to know that I am so sorry for your loss. I will be praying for you and your family through this very difficult time. I know that your mom is in a much better place, free from her suffering and I know that you are so lucky to be able to join her in heaven oneday.Remember that is always here for you and God will help you through this sad time.
Love and prayers, Debbie Fulgham
Deedra, I am so very sorry. Noone can take the place of our mom, I know you will miss her deeply. It is a comfort, I am sure, to know she is with God and that you WILL see her again and then be with her forever. Lean on God during this time, my friend, He has you in the palm of His loving hand.
You and your family will be in my prayers. I know this has been a tough year for you. God LOVES Deedra, don't forget that!
I know I was not ready to give her up. I miss her soooo much!! I just want to pick up the phone and call her. I know it gets easier, but I just don't know how. We just have to be ready ourselves to go see her one day!!
Love ya,
Kendra

Oh, Deedra, I did not know. Mu deepest sympathies. I imagine that is a very difficult thing.
I wish I would have sent this poem (below) to you sooner.
I see the countless CHRISTMAS TREES around the world below
with tiny lights like HEAVEN’S STARS reflecting on the snow.
The sight is so SPECTACULAR please wipe away that tear
for I am spending CHRISTMAS WITH JESUS CHRIST this year.
I hear the many CHRISTMAS SONGS that people hold so dear
but the SOUND OF MUSIC can't compare with the CHRISTMAS CHOIR up here.
I have no words to tell you of the JOY their voices bring
for it is beyond description to HEAR THE ANGELS SING.
I know HOW MUCH YOU MISS ME, I see the pain inside your heart
for I am spending CHRISTMAS WITH JESUS CHRIST this year.
I can't tell you of the SPLENDOR or the PEACE here in this place
Can you just imagine CHRISTMAS WITH OUR SAVIOR face to face
I'll ask him to LIFT YOUR SPIRIT as I tell him of your love
so then PRAY FOR ONE ANOTHER as you lift your eyes above.
Please let your HEARTS BE JOYFUL and let your SPIRIT SING
for I am spending CHRISTMAS IN HEAVEN and I’m walking WITH THE KING.
